There is also a thicker conduit which works better with switch boxes placed on inside walls.
I have a light source outside of the building but it shines through to put shadows ish on the ceiling and floor inside of the house and this is on of those pre built houses in sanctuary.

I recommend placing the vanilla conduit on the outside of the wall and the pass through conduit on the inside.

First place a vanilla conduit or switchbox flush against a wall and then snap the pass through conduit onto it.
